DESTINY HIGH Chapter 2

Aww puppy, so cute

You and Yunie leave school and walk to a nearby café. Both of you enter and receive menus but decide to sit outside. As you wait to place your orders you read the sign emblazoned with the café's name. "Hunh..." you mutter to yourself.

"What is it?" Yuna asks.

"Nothing," you smile, "just wondering about the name."

"Kingdom Hearts Café?  What about it?"

"It's just a little odd." A hand slams down on your shoulder startling you.

Hearing a soft voice in your ear, "That's because it's named for an ancient legend. Forgotten by all but those who live on these islands." Twisting in your seat you see Axel grinniny evily at you. As he moves to sit between you and Yuna you slug him in the arm. Playfully pouting at you he rubs his arm asking with obviously fake innocence,  "Why'd you do that?"

Making a self-righteous face you straighten in your seat and give Axel your best regal look, "That was for unnecessarily startling me, you naughty Pan." Axel smirks just as Yuna starts to laugh. "What's so funny?" you ask her.
Between laughs she tries to explain. "You *giggle* and Lea," she giggles before taking a deep breath a few more giggles escapes. "Are so alike," she barely manages to squeak out before busting out laughing again.

Axel looks at you blandly, "Think we should change tables until she calms?"

You nod, "Absolutely. Let's go." The two of you start to stand when Yuna quickly leans forward grabbing you and Axel by the wrists.

"Wait! *giggle* I'm done, there's no need to move."

You look at her and tilt your head to the side, "Are you sure? We can come back later you know. Maybe after the rest of the students are finished at school?" Swiftly turning your head you glare accusingly at Axel. "Which reminds me... What are you doing out of class? Me and Yuna have Early Dismissal but what about you."

"I believe the correct phrasing is 'Yuna and I' not-" Axel states pulling a stern expression before you interrupt, "Oh, who cares. I've listened to you talk most of the day and your grammar ain't anybetter than mine."

"Lea has Early Dismissal as well," Yuna interjects still smiling. "Despite his behavior and appearance Lea is quite intelligent, loyal, and kind."

"Shhh," Axel hisses flapping his hands for Yuna to be quiet, "you'll ruin my reputation by saying stuff like that in public."

Yuna tilts her head smiling conspiratorially at you, "See, he doesn't even try to deny it. He just doesn't want it said where people can hear."

"So you guys ready to order?" Looking towards the new voice you see a petite woman with short, messy black hair wearing jeans and a shirt with "KH Café" stitched onto it.

"Yuffie!" Yuna exclaims, "What're you soing working here?"

"Cloud told Squall that Cid was shorthanded at the Café so I thought I'd apply. I get me some munny and I fill the time til school lers out. Then Squall picks me up from here while Cloud talks to Cid."

"Wait I thought Cid was the coach of the boy's swim class, team, whatever," you interrupt.

"Different Cid," Yuna explains, "Oh! Yuffie this is (y/n). (Y/n) this is Yuffie. She's dating Sora's dad, Mr. Leonhart, so she's kinda like Sora's unofficial stepmom mixed with aunt." Turning back to Yuffie Yuna asks, "So why do you call Mr. Leonhart  Squall when you know he hates it?"

Grinning Yuffie answers, "To aggravate him of course! Now before Cid,  the owner not Ri's dad, comes and yells at me. What would you like to order?" The three of you orders and Yuffie walks off.

A tune starts to play.  "Not mine," you and Axel say simultaneously.

"It's mine," Yuna's muffled voice says as she digs through her bag. "Ha!" Yuna yells triumphantly from her chair. "Oh, it's Rikku-" Rolling your eyes you ask, "Which one?"

Smiling apologetically she says, "My cousin, anyways Ri says that school's about to be let out and if nothing happens Sora should be let out on tom. Tom?" Shaking her head Yuna chuckles, "She must be typing in her pocket again. She also wants to know where we are so she can meet us."

"Sweet. I'll text Rox so he can bring Sora and the rest," Axel says typing away.

As you finish your (choice café food) you get glomped from behind nearly sending you face first into the fries while also choking you. Suddenly you're released.

"What the?" Turning you see Sora hanging like a puppy while Riku holds the back of his collar. "Oh how cute," you think but what you actually say is,"So Mr. Puppy is the one who was choking me?" This causes Kairi, Roxas, and Axel to bust out laughing, Riku to smirk, Naminé to smile, Sora to pout, while Ri and Yuna giggle. "Okay now I feel like I kicked the puppy." Seeing Sora's expression you walk over to where he's hanging and pat his head, "It's okay puppy, I forgive you." Everyone laughs at that while Sora gives you a proper hug.

"Just coming to check to see how you guys are -oh hey So'n'So how was school? Hope your dad wasn't to hard on you or Rox."

"So'n'So?"you whisper to Kairi.

"Her nickname for him,"Kairi whispers back.

Giving Yuffie a hug Sora says, "Not too hard, but he's gonna fuss when we get home. I tripped during a bout, hurt my ankle, and couldn't fight for the rest pf class."

Grinning mischievously- "Must be her go-to expression" Yuffie winks, "Maybe I can distract him for you so you can slip off to Kairi or Riku's house."

"Okay!" Sora grins goofily, "Well we better get going."

"Okay, just let me get the bill for these three," Yuffie states walking towards the café's doors.

♡♥Another mini timeskip filled with Sora jabbering♥♡

When Yuffie returns she places the bill on the table and ruffles Sora's spikey, brown hair. As she looks up she grins, runs around the table, and jumps a tall, muscular, brunette man qhile he talks to a slightly shorter bfut just as muscular blond who's hair was just as spiky, if not spikier, than Sora's. As Yuffie kisses the brunette Sora and Roxas yell, "Hi Dad!"

Riku leans over to you, "The brunette Yuffie is sexually harassing-" "Not that he minds," Kairi mutters. "-is Squall Leonhart, Sora's dad, and the spikey blonde is Cloud Strife, Roxas' dad."

"They are the hottest pair of teachers in Destiny High," Naminé sighs.  Glancing up at Riku you roll your eyes and Riku smirks back.

"Isn't lusting after your boyfriend's dad and uncle a little unethical?" You ask teasingly.

"At least it isn't as tacky as daydreaming about your best friend's father the way Kairi does," she replies.

"True," you agree, "Kairi nearly had a nosebleed during Swimming when someone said the if Mr. Leonhart heard Kairi call him Squall he'd go after her with his sword."

"Sounds like her," Namine says rolling her eyes.

"So this is the new student," a low flat voice says from behind you. You gulp and slowly turn around. You look up, see a lion pendant, crane your neck back to loik higher, and see aman with longish brown hair, a ruggedly handsome face bisected by a long scar, and stern blue gray eyes.

"Y-yes," you stutter, "I'm-"
"This is (y/n)," Sora says coming to your rescue.

Turning hos cool gaze to his son he asks,"So how did the two of you meet?"

Gathering your courage you answer, "Sora and I have the same homeroom so he was nice enough to show me where it was at."

Lips giving the slightest twitch Leon comments dryly,  "You mean my son dragged you along behind him while Riku brought up the rear."

"Basically," you admit blushing a little.

"Anyways I'm Leon, Sora's father. I teach swordplay at Destiny High along with Cloud." He motions to the silent blonde beside him then holds out his hand, "You probably already heard most of this from your new friends but it is always nice to make proper introductions rather than rely on hearsay."

"Yeah," you chuckle shaking his hand, " and (f/n l/n). If you don't mind me asking why are there two sword instructors?"

His lips twitch again, "Cloud uses a blade that is closer to a claymore while I use one more akin to a long sword. "

"Plus," Riku interjects, "it's easier for them to ahow us techniques if there are two people who know what they're doing."

Leon gives a small nod, "Very true. Some students are slower on the uptake."

"Sora," Roxas coughs.

"You okay there cuz?" Sora asks obliviously.

"Yup I'm fine, " Roxas replies innocently.

"I'm beginning to see why him and Axel are friends," you muse.

"YUFFIE! GET YER BUTT BACK TO WORK! YA STILL GOT THIRTY MINUTES LEFT!" a gruff voice yells from from inside the café. Yuffie pouts, kisses Leon's cheek, ruffles Sora's hair, and walks back inside grumbling under her breath.

Pulling out your (design) wallet you put your share of the money and tip under a plate so it wouldn't blow away then look over at the group. "If you guys tell me where to go I can meet you there after I change and drop my bag off. This uniform is seriously starting to itch."

Ri snickers, "I think (y/n) is trying to bail."

"AM NOT," you protest.

"Sora."

Sora looks up, "Yeah Dad?"

"Go with her."

"Sure," Sora agrees with a smile.

Hastily you turn to Sora's father, "There's no need Mr. Leonha-"

"It's Leon," he interrupts, "and if Sora goes with you he can show you where to go."

"Alright, " you sigh, "let's go Sora." Sora jumps up from where he'd been perched on a table edge and follows you home......like a puppy. "*sigh* He's too childishly cute, adorable, nice, whatever for his own good. Riku probably has his hands full keeping this guy outta trouble." Looking back you call out, "Hurry up Sora!"
